Dr. Scott Gradwell

Scott A. Gradwell, DMD is a native of the Lehigh Valley and a graduate of Albright College and Temple Dental School. Dr. Gradwell completed a residency in the specialty of Periodontics and Implantology at Temple University.
Dr. Gradwell began his career in Periodontics in 1988 working as a restorative dentist during his residency program. He has maintained his professional relationship with Dr. I Jay Freedman and Associates for 27 years, transitioning from a restorative dentist to their Periodontal and Implant Surgeon. In Dr. Freedman’s Abington Pa. office, state of the art, esthetic dentistry is provided in conjunction with dental implants, crown and bridge placement, esthetic veneers and the treatment of periodontal disease. Since 1989, Dr. Gradwell and Dr. Freedman have placed and restored thousands of dental implants. This exemplary focus on dental implant excellence is the driving force behind Dental Implant Solutions of Greater Philadelphia.
Dr. Gradwell has been an active staff member at Lehigh Valley Hospital since 1991. He has served as Vice Chairman of the Department of Dentistry as well as Clinical Chief of Periodontics. He served on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh County Senior Center for seven years. He served as the Board President for two years. As an Eagle Scout, Dr. Gradwell is committed to community service. He also serves on the Occupational Advisory Council for the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute. Dr. Gradwell served on the Board of The Montgomery Bucks Dental Society and is an active member of the Society. In 2015, Dr. Gradwell was inducted into the American College of Dentists as a Fellow. This honorary society recognizes dentists for their moral and ethical conduct in the field of Dentistry.
Along with his many accomplishments, Dr. Gradwell has lectured nationally on the periodontal treatment of Arestin, a local delivery antibiotic. From 2003 to 2005 Dr. Gradwell lectured for OraPharma, Johnson & Johnson on the use of Arestin. He provided detailed information on Arestin to dentists in the Midwest, as well as local educational programs.
Teaching is a fundamental love of Dr. Gradwell’s. He is on staff at the Lehigh Valley Hospital where he volunteers one day a month working with the dental residents in the dental clinic. He also is a part of the teaching team for the dental residents, which involves lecturing several times a year.

In 2015 Dr. Gradwell graduated from the world renowned Pikos Institute in advanced Implant and bone grafting surgery. The office has state of the art technology which promotes the most advanced surgical options.
When Dr. Gradwell is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his three children, Ashley, Sean and Lauren. He actively pursues his spirituality for balance in his life. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown where he serves as an Elder. He was a 4th grade Sunday School teacher for 15 years. He is a contributor to the local 4H programs with a personal interest in sheep farming. He recently completed the renovation and restoration of a 10 acre farming property in Fogelsville, PA. He is committed to learning and implementing organic gardening on his farm.
Dr. Gradwell is committed to mission work in under-developed countries. He has traveled to Honduras and Malawi, Africa where he was the oral surgeon on the medical team. He is planning on a yearly mission trip to either Honduras or Malawi, Africa for he has found a passion to serve with oversees medical teams.
